Koyel Tripathi is a Versatile and a very talented artist, who is not only an established singer but also an excellent composer, Lyricist and an Actor.
Koyel with her name synonymous with that of Cuckoo was very rightly named so by her parents Shyamal and Deepika.
She has been connected to the beautiful world of music right from the age of 3 where in she gained the attention from Prakash singh of the patiala Gharana. It was during those days, her potentials of singing was discovered by her parents and since then there hasn’t been any stopping back.
It was as if music was in her blood and she participated in small musical programs before coming to Kolkata at the tender age of 10. It was here in Kolkata that she got hooked up with Shri Biman Mukherjee who is considered to be the Encyclopedia of music. She specialized in Najrul Geeti under his tutelage.
From an Educational perspective, she has completed her MA in Vocal Music from Tagore University, Kolkata.
She has been extremely fortunate to have Shree Ravindra Jain ji as her Guru, under whom she further developed herself as an Artist. Bhajan Samrat, Anup Jalota ji, has been a great mentor who has played a big role in shaping up her career, and she is extremely thankful to Anup ji for all the support he has provided right throughout.
She has recorded many songs of different genres like Bhajans, Ghazals, Sufi, Old Hindi Songs, Romantic numbers, her own compositions and has successfully enthralled her audience in all concerts with her mesmerizing voice, tuneful singing and a melodious voice.

She has performed in over 800 concerts throughout the career both within the country and Abroad and also released many Albums in Hindi and Bengali (“Krishna Sharanam”, “ISHQ Bawari”, “Ek Muttho Akash”, “Hridoy Macche” to name a few).
Koyel Ji has also played the role of a Lyricist and Music director for many theatre plays such as “Alibaba”, a very popular Arabian tale of the yesteryears, “Swami Vivekananda”, “Life of Rabindranath Tagore” , “Mrityu Baan” (Suspense Thriller) etc.
She has also been a part of the illustrious judging panel for some of the core events such as "Inter school", "Inter College/University", "National Level Music competitions", "International level Music Competitions".
Koyel Ji's achievements will definitely be incomplete without the mention of "Krishna Sharanam - The Voice of Krishna", an iconic musical ballet act where she not only played the role of "Meerabai" but was also responsible for Lyrics, Music direction and coming up with the entire theme and concept. Working with a team of 14 dancers, and having the likes of Anup Jalota, Harish Bhimani as a part of this ballet has definitely been one of her biggest achievement, that has made all of us proud. This program was performed under the banner of “Koyelia Creations”, an organization created by Koyel Tripathi ji to promote a culture of Art across the society with a vision “The Art beyond Imagination”. For the benefit of everyone, i would also like to mention that very recently, Koyel ji also formed her own musical band named "Humming Bird" And we all can certainly look forward to a lot more performances from the group.
